A good padel racket costs real money. Carbon fibre and graphene composites are high-performance materials — but they're not indestructible. A dedicated cover is the simplest way to make your racket last.
Heat, humidity and storage
Carbon fibre rackets perform best within a specific temperature and humidity range (roughly 18–24°C, 40–60% humidity). Leaving your racket in a hot car, storing it damp after a match, or keeping it in direct sunlight all wear down the adhesives and core materials over time. A cover can't regulate temperature, but it keeps moisture off the frame and absorbs the low-level shocks that cause delamination.
Transit damage
Most racket damage doesn't happen on court — it happens in transit. Sliding against other objects in a bag, getting knocked in an overhead locker, or having kit piled on top. A padded cover isolates the racket so nothing can reach the frame.
What to look for
- Structured interior padding against both faces, not just the edges
- Full-perimeter zip with quality hardware — cheap zips jam, and forcing one is how frames crack
- A carry strap or handle that's practical for getting to the court
- Exterior fabric that sheds light rain and condensation
Why COVR
Our covers use heavyweight canvas and genuine leather trim. The canvas holds its shape over years of use. The leather develops a patina rather than degrading — it looks better with age. Everything is built to last as long as the racket inside it.
